Things you can learn by invading someone’s mind
I’m not sure you can learn all the things I’m going to write about here from my mind, but I certainly have learned these things from sneaking about and reading other peoples journals. I know it’s wrong — wrong in every moral or ethical way, in fact — but I never let on, honest, and I’m a good little secret keeper! I do it purely for my own entertainment, and to see inside others’heads if only briefly. Also, I have never photocopied any of the pages, so get that out of your mind!
Here are a few things I have learned by reading others’journals, and, by turns, their minds:
1) People are always thinking something completely different to what they tell you.
2) Those friends who aren’t particularly loud or bubbly? Those are the ones you have to watch! One of my friends, who will remain nameless, is obsessed with Red Diesel Newcastle lorries. It says so in his diary and every time I see him I am very tempted to make some kind of a hint or a mention!
3) You really shouldn’t read other peoples’journals. It is not right. Yet…it feels so right. How can it possibly feel right? Don’t ask me, I am addicted and sure to lie or not make any sense.
4) That your friends love you and care for you more than you think. They might not tell you so often, but in a diary – in that safe place – there are all kinds of secrets to be found.
